Frequently asked questions
The plain answers, before you book a tour. Questions about one classroom live on the Wobbler and Toddler and Primary pages, and tuition questions on Enrollment and Tuition.
Is Pristine Montessori a daycare?
In the practical sense, yes. We provide full-day care, Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, for children from 18 months to 6 years, so a working family needs nothing else. What makes the day different is what happens inside it: a prepared Montessori classroom, an AMI-certified lead guide, and a three-hour work cycle every morning instead of a schedule of activities. See the programs
What ages do you take?
18 months to 6 years, in two classrooms. The Wobbler and Toddler community welcomes children from 18 months to 3 years, and Primary covers 3 to 6, including the pre-K year before kindergarten. Children move from one to the other when they are ready, not on a fixed date.
What are your hours, and do you offer half days?
We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Families choose a half day (pick up at 11:45 am), a school day (3:15 pm) or a full day (5:00 pm), on a 4-day or 5-day schedule. Tuition for every option is published on the enrollment page. See tuition
Where are you, exactly?
At 1400 NE 48th Ave #108, Hillsboro, OR 97124, in the Orenco area of Hillsboro, off NE Cornell Road and a few minutes from the Orenco and Elmonica MAX stations. There is free parking in the lot for drop off and pick up. Plan your drop off
Do you serve families from Tanasbourne, Aloha and Beaverton?
Yes. Most of our families live or work within about fifteen minutes of the school: Orenco, Tanasbourne, Aloha, Beaverton, North Plains and Forest Grove. Many drop off on the way to Intel, Nike or Kaiser Westside. Our commute page shows the drive from the school to each of those. See the commute page
How far are you from Beaverton?
About 18 to 25 minutes by car from central Beaverton on a typical weekday morning, via NE Cornell Road or US 26, and about the same from Aloha along Baseline Road. Put your own address into the commute planner to see your route.
Is the lead teacher Montessori trained?
Yes. Ms. Marianne, our Lead Primary Guide, is AMI-certified, the training established by Dr. Maria Montessori herself. Every classroom has a lead guide and an assistant, with real ratios of 1 adult to 4 children in Wobbler and Toddler and 1 adult to 10 children in Primary. Meet the team
Is there a waitlist?
Sometimes, most often for the Toddler community. The quickest way to find out is to book a tour. We will tell you what is open and what the next step looks like for your child's age. Book a tour
Do you accept ERDC?
Yes, we accept Oregon's Employment Related Day Care subsidy. Call or email us and we will walk you through how it applies to your tuition.
How do I schedule a tour?
Online, in about a minute. Tours run weekdays at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm and take about 45 minutes to an hour. Pick a time on the enrollment page, or use the Book a Tour button at the top of any page. If none of those times work, email us at info.pristinemontessori@gmail.com and Ms. Runi will work with you to find a time that works for us all. Pick a time
Does my child need to be potty trained?
No. Toilet learning is part of the Wobbler and Toddler day, and we follow each child's readiness without pressure. More about the Toddler community
Do you provide lunch?
Families pack a lunch and a water bottle each day. Everything else your child needs for the day is provided here.
Still have a question? Ask it on a tour.
